JetBlue pilot becomes “crazy” in flight and forcing an emergency landing

President of JetBlue Airways, Dave Barger, said Wednesday that he met the captain of the flight makes a “long time” and said the man was “” a consummate professional. “The CEO referred to the pilot of the flight that had to make an emergency landing Tuesday due to the more erratic.

When asked about the erratic behavior of the captain who led the crew and passengers to master, Barger described it as “a medical situation.” But, he added, “became a security situation.”

The captain received medical assistance under the custody of the FBI, Barger said.

And an FBI spokeswoman, Lydia Maese said “We’re still investigating. We are coordinating with the FAA, TSA, the Amarillo Police Department and the airport police, “he said.

The New York Flight 191, bound for Las Vegas, made an emergency landing in Texas.

The copilot, concerned about the behavior “erratic” of his colleague, locked the door of the cockpit, when at one point the pilot came out.

Passengers described what happened next.
“The JetBlue pilot ran to the door of the cabin, he began beating her and said something like ‘we need to slow down, we have to get off this plane,’” said Laurie Dhue.

“At that moment, two flight attendants tried to dominate and out of nowhere about six or seven men broke into the bigs front of the plane and the captain fought on the floor and dominated. It was truly like something out of a movie, “she said.

An amateur video of the incident was a shock and as several men moved down the hall. You can hear a voice, presumably that of the pilot, who says “Oh, my God. I am very dismayed” to the screams and the voice mentions Israel and Iraq.

Paul Babakitis also passenger and retired police officer from New York, said he was one of the men who helped control the captain on the ground.
“I felt if I got into the cab, he would try to get off the plane and not in a safe landing,” he said.

According Babakitis, police entered the aircraft, the pilot handcuffed and took him away from the plane. The video shows someone being taken off the plane in a kind of chair. “I’m no stranger to this kind of situations, but not something I expected at 30,000 feet,” he said.

Another passenger, Tony Antolino considered the co-pilot as a hero. “I think the passenger’s flight is really the hero here, because he recognized that something was terribly wrong, and was able to convince the driver leaving the cab,” he told CNN.

The airline’s CEO repeatedly praised the flight crew and passengers for their response and the “training accompli” that showed when the “call to action” was necessary in the middle of what he considered a “difficult case for say the least.
